Held together in the absence of screws or glue, the design of this chair looks to elevate those seated to a resting position, where the back arches in a curve formed from alternative strips which subtly change their angle. This gentle bowing receives the arch of the back and rear as one lies in.

Through the joint (alternating pieces that lock the opposite in place), a tight clamping bolt enables control of the form, and thus, strength in the cantilever.

The seat may be understood as a larger installation, and alter in it’s assembled orders given the joint. Further, it can be disassembled in-to four pieces, for transportation purposes.

The chair can be assembled and disassembled, fastened by bolts in the absence of glue. Exploration of different use cases and extended, varied form becomes a possibility.
